Only residents living in the Weston Rural Fire District can obtain a permit. Permits are conditional and may be revoked at any time.
You may register online using this website, or you can visit us in person. In person permits are issued the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Weston Fire Station.
Please only burn wood, wood by-products (cardboard, paper etc.) or leaves.
If you want to have an open-air fire (tree pile, bonfire, fire pit etc.) then yes, you need an approved permit. If you are burning in an enclosed container, such as a burn barrel with mesh cover or barbecue grill, a permit is not required.
You must call 1-844-618-0900 to activate your permit as well as 1-402-443-1000 to notify the Saunders County Sheriff's Office that you have a valid permit BEFORE you burn.
